MY BACKGROUND

I am a qualified and practicing midwife here in the UK and have practiced abroad. I have worked within the NHS, private practice, the charity sector and independent midwifery. I have provided antenatal, intarpartum and postnatal care to women in hospital, birth centres and the community. Having worked within high risk units in London, New Zealand and Sussex it has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience in complex situations. As the only lead midwife for a top private obstetric practice in London, I am confident to make clinical decisions independently and will refer appropriately. I also ran and managed a team of specialist midwives providing pregnancy health information for women and their families, through multiple communications platforms and set up and project managed helpline services for national charities. I am currently the midwifery advisor to Boots UK Limited and their midwifery spokesperson. I remain a practicing midwife in Sussex, working in the NHS as well as running this successful private practice. I am a member of the professional Union; Royal College of Nursing and am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council – NMC.
