MY BACKGROUND

I am a qualified and practicing midwife here in the UK and have practiced abroad. I have worked within the NHS, private practice, the charity sector and independent midwifery. I have provided antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women in hospital, birth centres and the community. Having worked within high-risk units in London, New Zealand and Sussex it has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience in complex situations. As the only lead midwife for a top private obstetric practice in London, I am confident to make clinical decisions independently and will refer appropriately. I also ran and managed a team of specialist midwives providing pregnancy health information for women and their families, through multiple communications platforms and set up and project-managed helpline services for national charities. I have been Boots UK's midwifery advisor and midwifery spokesperson. I remain a practicing midwife in Sussex, working in the NHS as well as running this successful private practice. I am a member of the professional Union; Royal College of Nursing and am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council – NMC.
